Managing Users: Adding Users Via CSV Upload

Instructions

1. Accessing the Feature

  • From the WiQ main page, click 'profile' and 'my company' to access the company management page
  • Click Users and Roles section and click 'download CSV template'. This action will download an excel spreadsheet to your computer

2. Preparing the CSV File

  • Open the excel spreadsheet that was downloaded on your computer
  • The columns in row one (1) will indicate what information you will need to provide for your users 
    • *Delete the existing example information, i.e. John and Sally details
  • Enter the following details for each user you would like to add :
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Email
    • Organization Title: this is the role that the user has at your organization
    • Role Assigned: this is the WiQ role you would like to assign to your user
  • Note: Ensure that all required fields are filled out accurately for an effective user upload
  • After entering the necessary details, save the CSV file on your computer.


3. Uploading the CSV File

  • Return to the 'Users and Roles' Section and click 'Upload CSV Template'

  • In the Upload a CSV File pop-up window, click 'Select File'. Chose the CSV file that you saved to your desktop and click 'Upload'

4. Handling Errors

  • If your spreadsheet has any typos, missing information, or other issues, a pop-up will appear 'Check for Row Errors'. This allows you to correct the errors prior to uploading the users
  • You can choose to 'Ignore Errors' to not complete the upload or 'Resolve Errors' to edit the errors in the CSV
    • To resolve the errorsby clicking 'Resolve Errors'. 
      • A table will appear showing the fields that have errors in it, indicated by a red error icon. Hover over the icon to view specific error details.
      • Make the necessary corrections in the table
      • You can also delete user rows by clicking the trash icon.
      • After correcting errors, click 'Next.'
      • Review the summary page to confirm the successful import of users.
      • Click 'Ok' to continue.

5. Activating Users

  • Once you have successfully added these users, a pop-up will appear asking if you would like to activate the users immediately.
    • Activate Now: Click 'Activate Users' to send a welcome email and activate them right away. This will allow the users to have log in access to the WiQ application.
    • Activate Later: Click 'Activate Later' if you prefer to activate them at a later date. The user will not receive a welcome email and they will not have access to the WiQ application.


 WiQ Tip: If you have setup your company with Single-Sign-On (SSO) you must ensure that the users email has been added to your company's WiQ Active Directory (AD) list. Check with your IT department to confirm this. If you have not setup SSO for your company, the users will receive a welcome email with a temporary password to log in to the application.
