In This Article
In this article, you will find detailed instructions on how to assign roles and permissions to users in WiQ. This functionality is important for managing user access and ensuring that individuals have the appropriate permissions to have visibility over the tickets that are applicable to them. Proper role assignment helps maintain security and operational efficiency by limiting access based on user responsibilities.
What You Will Learn
1. Navigate to the User and Roles Section
2. Manage User Roles and Permissions - individual users
3. Manage User Roles and Permissions - multiple users
Who Should Use This

- From the main page, click 'Profile' and 'My Company' to navigate to the Company Management page.
- Select Users and Roles section of the Company Management page
2. Manage User Roles
- Choose the user whose roles you want to modify. A side panel will open displaying the user’s details. In the side panel, find the section labeled Role in WiQ.
- To add a role, click on the dropdown menu and select the desired role. To remove a role, click the 'x' next to the role you wish to delete.
- After making the necessary changes, click 'View Summary' to review the updated roles. Click 'Save' to apply the changes
3. Managing Roles for Multiple Users
- On the Users and Roles page, use the checkboxes next to the names of the users to select one or more users. To select all users on the page, click the checkbox in the header row.
- When multiple users are selected, a pop-up menu will appear at the bottom of the page. Click 'Assign to Roles'. Check the box next to the role you want to assign. This will be automatically applied to the users.
- Note: Unchecked roles will be removed from the selected users
WiQ Tip: Ensure users are assigned all the correct roles you want to give them. Without the appropriate role, users will not be able to complete the actions associated with that role. For example, if you do not assign generator user role to a user, they will not be able to generate a ticket in WiQ.
