In this article, you will find detailed instructions on how to successfully receive and complete a shipping document for Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste.

Instructions


1.    Access the WiQ Landfill Module

  •     From the main page, click 'Landfill'.


2.    Access Shipping Documents and enter offload details

  • Click the Shipping Documents bucket. All shipping documents sent to your facility will appear in this list. 
  • To filter this list, click the column header to access the available fields. If columns have been filtered, revert back to the original view by clicking 'Reset Filters'.

  • Click the shipping document that you would like to complete. This will open the shipping document in a side panel pop-up window. 
  • Click 'Complete' to enter the offload details and complete the shipping document.

3.    Complete the shipping document by entering offload details

  • Click 'To Be Completed' to begin entering offload details.

                                            

(1) Receiving a Non-Hazardous Shipping Document:

  • All Non-Hazardous loads, will be sent to the Receiver landfill accompanied by a Shipping Document. 
  • To complete the offload details section for the received load, follow these steps:
    • Date and time received - Click the calendar icon to update date and time the load was received. This field will default to the time you are entering the shipping document details in WiQ, so update it accordingly.
    • Scale Receipt #Enter the scale ticket number that the landfill facility generates during during weigh-out.
    • Date and time in and out of the facility - Click the calendar icon to select the time the truck was weighed in and out.
    • Weights - Enter the gross weight, tare weight & net weight in the available text boxes


  • Waste Discrepancy  
    • Discrepancy: when the waste type, shipping name, or volume on a shipping document do not match what was received at the landfill. 
    • Check the box to indicate whether a discrepancy was present (yes or no)
      • If yes, provide a brief description of the discrepancy in the 'Reason for Discrepancy' text box.
  • Waste Rejected 
    • If the load was rejected by the landfill, provide a brief description for the rejection in the 'Reason for Rejection' text box.

                                   

(2) Receiving a Hazardous Shipping Document (AER Manifest):

  • All Hazardous loads, will be sent to the landfill accompanied by an Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) Manifest.
  • To complete the offload details for the received load, follow these steps:
    • Date and time received - Click the calendar icon to update date and time the load was received. This field will default to the time you are entering the shipping document details in WiQ, so update it accordingly.
    • Quantity received - enter the quantity received and select the units from the dropdown options available. Note that the default unit is Tonnes.
      • Estimate volume provided by the Generator can be found in the blue ticket box in the right hand corner
    • Handling Code - this will be automatically populated based on the selection made by the Generator when the shipping document was created. You can change this by selecting a different option from the dropdown menu.
    • Truck Ticket/BOL# - enter the truck ticket/BOL number provided by the driver.
    • Cut percentages - enter the Oil%/Water%/Solids% cuts. Note that the cuts will default to 100% solids, but this can be updated based on the offload details.
    • 'Receiver Notes' - use the text box to enter any relevant load detials you would like to add to the shipping confirmation.

  • Review and Complete
    • To sign off on this shipping document, type your name in the text box and click 'I confirm all information is correct' and click 'Complete'
    • A confirmation pop-up will appear indicating that the shipment was successfully completed. The load status will update to 'Complete' 


5. Access PDF Copies of Manifests & Shipping documents 

  • To view the PDF copy of the shipping documents, navigate to the Shipping Document bucket, select the load you would like to view and click 'Download PDF'.
