WiQ Tip! If you would like to redirect a load to a facility at a different company, check out this article: 'Redirect a Load- To a Facility Outside of Your Company'.
Definitions:
- Intended Receiver: is the facility that is initially designated to receive the waste or product load. This is the planned destination that the generator selected during ticket creation. This will appear on the manifest/shipping document throughout the entire lifecycle of a ticket.
- Actual Receiver (Consignee): is the facility that ultimately receives the waste or product load. This may differ from the intended receiver if the load is redirected or if there are changes during the transportation process. When the ticket is first created, the actual receiver (consignee) will be left blank on the manifest or shipping document. Once the load has been received, the consignee details will be added to the final manifest/shipping document.
- 'Diverted' Status: refers to the process of redirecting a load from its intended receiver to the actual receiver. This can occur due to various reasons such as facility capacity issues, temporary shutdowns, or the inability to accept the type of waste being transported.
Instructions
1. Access the Ticket
- Navigate to the WiQ main page and select the ticket you would like to redirect.
- In the side panel, click 'Complete Ticket'. Click 'Reject Load'
2. Initiate a Redirect:
From the dropdown menu, chose another facility at your company that can accept the load.
Type in the subject line and description of the issue to provide a reason for the rejection. This information will be sent via email to the receiving facility that you are sending the load to. The generator will be notified that the load was redirected.
- The ticket status will change to 'Diverted' and will be removed from your ticket list. You will still be able to search for the ticket using the unique WiQ Ticket #.
- Once the receiving facility has completed the offload, the manifest will be updated reflecting the intended and actual receiver.
3. Notifications
- The new receiving facility will get an email with the load information.
- The generator will also be notified that the load was redirected.
4. How does this appear on the manifest/shipping document?
When the manifest has been received at the new facility, the document will show both the intended and actual (consignee) receiving facilities details.
5. History of the ticket:
If you navigate to the ticket and select history, you will be able to view the ticket history. This will reflect the diversion of the load from one facility to another.
Conclusion
Congratulations! You have successfully redirected a load to a different facility.
